29 June - Day Six

Kuta Beach - Blue Point - Uluwatu Temple

Last day. We go to Kuta Beach before going for tour.

Di Pantai Kuta

We went with Made to Blue Point. Blue Point was not in my itinerary actually, but I was so happy to get to see the breathtaking place in Bali. I guessed Blue Point was the famous place for surfing.

Blue Point

Blue Point

Made and Me at Blue Point
Then, we were heading to the place with was I was longing to go to. Uluwatu Temple. The monkeys were aggressive. There was Kecak Dance at there in the evening, but we were there in the morning so could not get to see Kecak Dance. Kecak Dance was the dance related with fire, according to Made.

Uluwatu Temple

Babi Guling was one of the famous dishes in Bali, therefore, we asked Made to drive us to eat this dishes. However, far beyond my expectation, this dish did not suit my stomach. I found it very hard for me to eat. =(

Babi Guling

We were bought to Carrefour later. Carrefour was not the place we expected, because it was just like the hypermarket in Malaysia, and we had already seen this so much in Malaysia. So, we asked Made to bring us to another place. Next we went to Duty Free Store, which we thought was nicer than Carrefour. But I did not bought anything in DFS because the stuff at there were sold in USD.

We reached airport 3 hours before our flight, because we did not have any place to go already. Quite boring in airport, therefore I took my DSLR to stroll around the airport, and took pictures of the airport. Just as I was about to go back to the wait for the flight, I finally found the multi-story roof souvenir which I looked for five days. At last, before I flew back to Malaysia, I got to buy that souvenir, although it was quite expensive. Now I was more believe to "The Secret", because it happened again, when I wished for that kind of souvenir.

At Airport, before going back to Malaysia.

When I was on the flight, I was again, sitting with 5 peoples that went to Bali with me on the same flight. We have "jodoh". Just share some experience of me on the plane. I was asking for food with rice from the steward, and when he went to check the food availability at another trolley, he told us there were nothing on rice. However, I saw him giving rice to another passengers when the others asked after me. Quite unhappy with this, but after all, this was a small matter. Nevertheless, one of the lady share half of the muffins with me, because I just got to buy a cup of maggie mee.

We reached LCCT quite late, at about 11 something. Then, we walked to Tune Hotel LCCT at quite a distance, before catch the flight on the next day to go back to Penang.

28 June ~ Day Five

Tanjung Benoa (Water Sports) - Ayung River (2 Hour River Rafting)

Today, we went for water: Water Sports and River Rafting.

Water sports were done in Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua. There were a lot of packages to choose, such as Turtle Island Visit, Glass Bottom Bot, Parasailing, Flying Fish, Banana Boat and etc. However, due to our tight budget, we only choose parasailing and flying fish. (Price of these activities please view here.

Doing parasailing was not more than 1 minutes in the air I guessed. We were giving two hand glove of different colour, red gloves on right and blue gloves on left. When the blue gloves was waved, you must pull the strings on your left hand. While queuing up and waiting for my turn, I was thinking whether I could see the bottom, because I was not wearing spectacles and contact lens. I screamed when I was lifted up by the balloon. However, when I was in the air, I feel like I was flying. I could see the scenery of the beach and sea just like what the bird saw.

Parasailing~~!

Me in the air~

Me in the air open my hand (that time not so afraid already)

Playing flying fish was another exciting game. However, during the transfer from the beach to the middle of the sea, the small boat was crowded with many people, until some of the passengers need to stand up. Flying fish is a game while two people were lying on a flat buoy and let the boat pull the buoy until it is in upright position.

Riding on the boat for flying fish, can you see us?

Next, we heading to Ayung River to play wild river rafting. I liked this very much!!! We went through some stream making us falling down of the buoy, and the most nicest thing here was, we go through a villa at the river side, which make me feel like I had fallen into a old kingdom. Oh ya, we saw a rainbow under the waterfall, and I had try to grab it, but of course, it could not be hold. Besides this, during the river rafting, we were sharing the buoy with a family of Korea, the father is a pilot of Korea Air. Whoa, although not able get to Korea, but being able to listen to their conversation in Korea was quite satisfied.

Ayung River Water Rafting!!

This arrangement of rocks represent someone bath in the river in Bali. However, this was the rock I arranged myself. xP

At night time, we went to shop again in Kuta Square and Matahari. I bought a sun-glasses and a coconut body scrub for myself in Matahari. The scrub sold in Matahari was the cheapest among all, like Agung Bali and other small stall I ever been, so next time if you wanted to buy scrub, buy at Matahari. =)

27 June - Day Four

Taman Ayun Temple - Ulundanu Temple - Alas Kedaton - Tanah Lot Temple - Kuta Square

Our day started with raining cats and dogs outside. We had packed our things before we departed from Tune Hotel Legian as we will be transferred to Tune Hotel Kuta.

It was still raining although I prayed not to rain when we were going to the tourist destination.

Our first place was Taman Ayun Temple. We actually could not go into the temple because it was a sacred place. However, we could only see the temple from outside. Because it was raining, it affected my mood to snap good pictures. In fact, I was reluctant to use my camera. There were beautiful temple building with multistory roof and Balinese Architecture, which were all my favourite.

Taman Ayun Temple, surrounding by water because raining

Taman Ayun Temple

Before going to Ulundanu Temple, we stopped at the roadside for buffet lunch. The type of buffet lunch was almost the same kind, and the food was not served in Balinese style, which was quite boring. By the way, rain plus hill make me feel cold outside the restaurant of the buffet lunch, until I shivered.

Lunch place

We thought due to the rain and the traffic, we would skip some places, but actually not. Our next destination after lunch is Ulundanu Temple. This was also a beautiful temple which I always saw in the internet, and finally today, I could see the scenery by my own eyes. In some place, we were not allowed to go into some places. I like I like I like this place! Did not know how to express my affectation to this place. ^^

Ulundanu Temple - Gede (I captured this photo)

After the visit at Ulundanu Temple, we bought a box of strawberry which sold at the road side, for 20,000 rupiah. Sweet and juicy strawberry. We wondered why Bali strawberry was not exported to Malaysia, because this would be cheaper than those imported from Australia and Korea.

Strawberry bought at Uludanu Temple, 20,000 rupiah

Next, we were heading towards Alas Kedaton. At first, I thought that the Alas Kedaton was the same place as Monkey Forest that we visited yesterday. However, when we reached only we knew was different. There were monkeys, bats and snake at there. The monkey at there had make us not know whether to cry or laugh. See the pictures below:

The monkey went up till Lyn's head

The most important view of today's trip was to the Tanah Lot Temple. Traffic jam had caused had took most of our time to reach day, and the raining and cloudy day prevented us to view the beautiful sunset at the Tanah Lot Temple. The day almost dark when we were there. However, the crowd of tourist did not ceased. In fact, we need to walk down the car before the car get its parking lot. We went to drink the Holy Water, and the people there help us to wear a yellow flower on my hair plus stick something on my head. The holy snakes that we wished to see also had been gone from the place from where they stayed (The snake will back to their place during day time, according to Gede).

Tanah Lot Temple

Dad and mum asked me to shop at Tanah Lot there, but I guessed there was no time for us to shop, as there were far more traffic jam behind us.

And beyond my guess limit, we had stucked in the traffic for 3 hours and the half, before we could get back to Tune Hotel Kuta.

At night, we went to shopping in Kuta Square. Just when we saw ROXY 90%, we forgot our dinner. I manage to get a Double Dutch White Colour bag, which had 60% at that moment. Price after discount is 170,000 rupiah. Hehe, later, we have our dinner at KFC.

Reach room at about 11pm. Good night

26 June - Day Three

Our trip to hike Mount Batur was canceled, as in the previous tour, if we want to stay at Mount Batur there and waiting for the sunrise, we would miss Kertha Gosa.

Bungee jump was planned on the 26 June 2011, but was also canceled.

We sit on the car like this, but in white colour

Today after arrange some tour with Made Jaya on the previous night, our tour today was mostly in the Ubud area.

At first, we went for Barong and Keris Dance. Barong was a huge lion, which represent the good spirit, while another creature, called Rangda, represent the evil spirit. Keris Dance, from what I see and thought, was a dance where the people want to kill themselves with keris, but to no avail.

Barong Dance

We went to Batu Bulan Temple. The view there was scenic and romantic. Maybe was because of the drizzle.

Batu Bulan Temple

Next, we went to Painting Museum. We thought the picture in the Gallery could not be capture, but actually it was allowed. I like this place. Everything was nice, include there was a green paddy field beside, which allowed us to take nice pictures.

Our trip followed by going to Goa Gajah. Goa Gajah was famous with the scary elephant cave. But when we see the elephant by our own eyes, it was not so scary that we thought before this.

Later, we went for lunch at the small stall near Monkey Forest. It only cost 12,000 rupiah!! And I liked this balinese dishes, especially the chicken.

Lunch near monkey forest: Delicious, spicy, cheap

Our trip was followed by the monkey forest visit. The monkey in the forest was tame, not like what we saw the the Botanical Garden in Penang. You could even catch photo near them. And there was also a water fall in the Monkey Forest.

The monkey was cute, holding a can

Bahaha, Lyn was afraid of monkey

Roadside view _ Someone marry, I thought

While we went to Puri Saren, it was raining quite heavily. Puri Saren was the place where the king stay, and the puri was under preparation for he highnest's Grandmother's funeral.

Our trip today was followed by spa at Inna Beach Resort at Sanur. Based on Made, that was the five-star hotel. The spa was awkward for Lyn and me actually, as we never did spa before and need to undress our shirt and wear only a disposable undergarments. >< When the ladies touched me, I feel "gerli". We had done Javanese Spa Treatment, plus a flower bath. After the spa, we found out a very huge diamond building in the hotel, which was a romantic wedding place. You can actually perform your wedding ceremony at there, and you will get the beach as your background!

Romantic Place in Inna Grand Bali Beach Resort

Later, we were driven to shop at Agung Bali, and without noticing, we had over the time that had agreed with Made before that! When girls shop, the time always passed too fast.

Our night continued with delicious dinner at Pawan Pasundan, for about 57,000 rupiah per pax.

Dinner _ Fish, nice right?

Dinner _ Taste like ayam penyet in Malaysia, but more delicious!

We reach hotel at 10pm something. Nice day.

25 June - Day Two

Legian Beach - Mas and Celuk Village - Tirta Empul - Mount Batur and Lake Batur view - Besakih Temple - Kertha Gosa

We went to Legian Beach after waking up at 6.30 in the morning. The sky out day was already bright at 6.30am.
Bungee

Bungee Jump!!! This was one of the most important reasons why we wanted to go Bali!!! However guess what, the operation had close on 26 April because the will be a construction of a Villa at there. So sad, cause bungee jump spot was only 5 minutes walk from our hotel.
Legian Beach

The wave at Legian was huge, at least more than Malaysian's wave. No
wonder people can surfing there. Later we had our breakfast at Warung Murah (not really cheap (murah) though).
Warung Murah

Later, we met Gede Agus, AirAsiaGo guide and his driver Pak Wayan. He was in the Balinese traditional costume when we met him.

Most of the Balinese's religion is Hindu, but the Hindu in Bali is not same as that in Malaysia, as the Hindu in Bali came from Persia, while that of Malaysia came from India. Gede also told us that Bali had black magic, but they belive that it is to be balance the good and the bad spirit. Hindu in Bali is called Siva, while Buddhist is called Sirdanda (correct me if I am wrong).

Our first purchase in Bali was officiated by Gede. He brought us to a HIGH-CLASS shop, and the sarong batik sold inside was at least 76,000 rupiah (approx Rm24). He said the sarong need to used when we went to the temple. When I asked can we buy at beside the street or buy later, he mentioned that there is no other stall selling this. It was proved later he was lying because there were sarongs sold at 6,000 rupiah near Besakih Temple. However, Lyn told me that it might be not his fault, because maybe the travel agency asked him to bring us there.

Pattern of batik that I bought

Later, we visited Mas and Celuk Village. Actually, beside that watching some process of the wood and silver crafting, there was nothing much we gained from the visit. It is not the village we visited actually, is just a building. The staff in the building were not helpful to explain all the process to you, but they are more likely to promote the products they sold.

Tirta Empul was nice. The water flowed out was actually came from the ground! Gede somemore told us that sometimes, some unique fish will came out from where the water came out when there was a big ceremony in the temple! Cool! The local people and some tourist were bathing with the holy water, which was believed that it could make your wish become true.

Tirta Empul

The lunch was not include in the AirAsiaGo packages, and the driver had brought to a buffet lunch, cost us at 75,000 rupiah each person plus 10% taxes. Hmm, nothing to say here.

Later, we are brought to see the panoramic view crater of Mount Batur and Lake Batur. The wind up there was big and cold.

Mount Batur and Lake Batur

After that, we visited Besakih Temple, where we needed to wear our sarong. The "door" of the temple is tall. There are many ceremony held there, and also many locals pestering you to ask you to buy things. In Besakih Temple, the surrounding is peaceful, also there were people asking you to buy souvenirs. There was a ceremony when we are there. I managed to catch a picture of a baby.

Gede almost forgot Kertha Gosa was in the itinerary. Fortunately I reminded him of this. Kertha Gosa was situated in Klungkung. There was chair for the royals people (Kesatrya) at there. Bali-dutch war also shown in the Musuem at there.
